CINNAMON SUGAR FRENCH TOAST STICKS

Cinnamon French Toast Sticks are a fun and tasty twist on the classic french toast recipe! Just a few ingredients and less than 30 minutes before you’re dipping these warm golden sugary sticks in maple syrup. French Toast Sticks are a delicious breakfast treat many of us grew up with as kids made with bread, eggs, milk, almond extract, cinnamon, and sugar.

INGREDIENTS

  • cooking spray
  • 10 slices thick cut bread *
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract *
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon

INGREDIENTS cooking spray 10 slices thick cut bread * 4 large eggs ½ cup whole milk ¼ teaspoon almond extract * 1 cup granulated sugar 1 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon INSTRUCTIONS Prep the bread by slicing the sides off of each slice and then cutting the pieces of bread into 3 thick sticks. In a medium bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, and almond extract. Quickly dip the pieces of bread in the egg, do not soak, and let any excess fall away into the bowl. Repeat until bread is gone. Place the french toast sticks in a large skillet coated with cooking spray and cook on each side until golden brown, about 1 minute per side. Cook off any remaining sticks. In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon and coat the cooked french toast sticks in the cinnamon sugar. Serve with maple syrup or icing and enjoy hot.

INSTRUCTIONS

  4. In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon and coat the cooked french toast sticks in the cinnamon sugar.
  5. Serve with maple syrup or icing and enjoy hot.
